Susana Prieto

              She was born in Santander but since a very early age she moved to Gijón where she began her musical education with José Luís Fernández and Margarita Escarpa. She continued her studies at the Royal High Conservatory of Madrid with Manuel Estévez. Thereafter she made postgraduate studies with Zoran Dukic at the Royal High Conservatory of The Hague, with Carlo Marchione at the High Conservatory “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig and with Eugenia Kanthou at the High Conservatory “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin.

               She followed Master Classes with:

David Russell,  Costas Cotsiolis, Manuel Barrueco, Joaquín Clerch, Hopkison Smith, Sergio y Odair Assad, Gerardo Arriaga...

                She has won scholarships of the following foundations:

Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung and NaFög in Germany, Alvargonzález Foundation and the Segundo Gil Dávila Foundation in Spain.

                She has won the following prizes:

- Spain 1998, First Prize at the Yamaha-Hazen Music Competition

-Spain 1998, Second Prize at the Youth Musicians Competition

-Spain 1997, First Prize at the International Guitar Competition of Comillas

-Greece 1997, First Prize at the International Guitar Competition of Volos

-Spain 1996, Second Prize at the International Guitar Competition of the Canaries Islands

                She has performed in:

Germany, Greece, Spain, Japan, Italy and Austria.
